Venus Bust from Edge Sculpture by Matt Buckley
The OMGC says...
Sculptor Matt Buckley's creative interpretation of the Goddess Venus. Goddess of love, beauty, fertility and prosperity, Venus was so important in Roman mythology that she was claimed as the mother of the Roman people through her son Aeneas. This sculpture is finished with understated, warm grey tones.
Medium: Cold cast marble resin, hand finished and painted.
Size: 38.0 cm high, 32.0 cm long, 17.0 cm deep (15 x 12.5 x 7 inches)
This completely fresh sculpture must be seen to fully appreciate the depth/colour and presence they possess, the 2D world really does not do it justice at all.
About the range: Edge Sculpture
Presenting a most striking collection of contemporary sculpture. Emotionally evocative, fiercely modern, yet remaining utterly affordable, Edge Sculpture is designed and sculpted by Matt Buckley at his studios in Shropshire, England.
Edge Sculpture is a collection influenced by style rather than subject. The mix of form, light and texture gives a unique feel to each individual piece. Each subject has been originally sculpted from clay, which allows the creation of pieces that deliver both a dynamic and organic feel. We then develop both the cases and moulds which ensure the faithful reproduction of the original clay sculpture with our special blend of marble stone castings. The finishing touch is the skilful application of hand-painting with the end result being a statement piece and talking point for anyone’s home!
